when i do hot migration from Hyper-V to VMware , when using a windows machine, it migrates successfully, but when booted it opens with a blue screen.

even when migrating linux machine, it does work properly.

when migrated offline it migrates fine,

but when migrates online it seems to damaged or corrupted.

the VMs are mission critical their downtime is painfull. is there something i can do to fix the online migration or its a must to use offline at this point?

It is due to some drivers not migrating well and clashing with the destination system.

so is there a method to prevent that? are you proposing that the issue is from the VM?

For VMware, it can be removing the VMware tools. For, Hyper-V, you can try enabling Recovery mode while converting.
