Need to do a conversion from ESXi to Hyper-V core of a few Windows servers.
Doing some trial runs.
How do I view a more detailed status of the progress of the conversion?
I don't see the target vhdx file getting any bigger, I don't see anything in the log in the program files directory.
The percent keeps increasing on the progress status, but would like to something a little more solid to track progress.
Going from a ESXi Server to Hyper V with the converter running on the Hyper V machine itself.
Thanks.
Next test will be to copy the files I want to convert local first and then convert.

also is there a temp directory being used I can monitor/optimize? I have a bunch of disks to convert so optimizing any temp areas would be benefitial.

Welcome to StarWind Forum. There is a progress bar when converting via GUI. Are you doing P2V or V2V?
What exactly would you get logged?
also is there a temp directory being used I can monitor/optimize? I have a bunch of disks to convert so optimizing any temp areas would be benefitial.
Could you please expand on it?
Thanks for your input!

I see the progress bar it just took a very long time to actually make any progress past 4%, eventually I saw the converted virtual disk start increasing in size, which I suppose is good enough along with the status bar.
Thanks.

Greetings,
For live vm conversion, conversion includes 2 processes: create a snapshot and then conversion itself. Please let the 2nd stage run.
