Copy VM from Hyper-V to VMWare

Good Day!

I have a production Hyper-V cluster and need to stand up a copy of a VM on it to a separate ESXi host. I have some questions that I would greatly appreciate answers to?

1) Is StarWind V2V Converter a good option for this?

I've connected to the Hyper-V cluster and did not select the synchronise option when creating the VM on ESXi.
2) I presume, this will now create the VM on ESXi and leave the source VM intact and running as normal, creating the copy as desired with no impact on the source?

3) Would I need to manually remove the checkpoint created on the source once the Converter is finished?

4) Can the same process be done to copy a VM on a stand alone ESXi host to another stand alone ESXi host?

Thank you in advance for any assistance

Kind regards

Yes.

V2V converter does not do any impact on the source.
The synchronization button was created specifically for live VM conversion: It syncs data to the destination, leaving the source intact.
3) Would I need to manually remove the checkpoint created on the source once the Converter is finished?
No
4) Can the same process be done to copy a VM on a stand alone ESXi host to another stand alone ESXi host?
Yes.

Exactly, but I am wondering about the answer to point 3, why? can you explain it to me please.

The V2V converter automatically removes the snapshot after the conversion.
