Error converting Windows server to a VM

When I run the migrator to make the physical server into a VM on vcenter it fails. In the error logs I found this:

Can you please convert an individual disk into a virtual one? Let me know if that works!

What is ESXi version you use? Is it free?

The location for the destination image of that virtual disk you wanted me to make was on the local server which is running windows server 2008 R2.

Our goal is to virtualize the 2008 server onto our ESXi server running ESXi 7.0.3
Once we have it virtualized we are just going to offline it and store it away for several years to have in case we need some legacy services off it.

Thanks for your update. One last question before I go to further log analysis. Did you try pointing to ESXi host instead of the vCenter when converting? Thanks!

Hi,

It looks like you are converting a VM from AWS to VxRail.
I double-checked it with my colleagues, and StarWind V2V Converter does not support conversion to *.mvmdk file. Please try converting the VM disks as VMDKs on a Windows or ESXi host and copy them to VxRail (if it allows for VMs having *.vmdk disks).
