V2V between datacentres fails.

Hi

My old datacentre runs ESXI 6.5.0 and my new one 7.0.3. I need to move VM's between them.

I point the app at both and initiate the move which fails. Here is the log.

I have admin rights to both datacentres.

Is any of them running a free version?
Also, as a workaround, you can back up the VMs from the old location and restore them in the new location. Finally, you can move the VM between clusters with Enhanced vMotion: just add an old server to the new cluster and move the VMs from the old server to any of the new ones.

No, both fully licensed. I am going to try using my backup software (VEEAM), as it can see both clusters. The issue is that the server restore would be from a previous nights backup. Not too bad if i do it early doors, (7am,etc as the backup will only be a few hours old).

My old cluster is in production and if i add one of its hosts to the new cluster, i was worried it might break something or interrupt the vm's.

V2V conversion also needs the VM to be down for the entire conversion time.
By the way, was the VM turned off during conversion?

On the destination datacentre, a VM is created but with no bootable drive.

files are there but the destination .vmdk is double the size and there's a mystery .vswp file the size of the original .vmdk

Thanks for your details.
Can you perform Storage vMotion between these servers?
Can you try converting an individual drive?
