I'm trying to get a server converted from ESXI to Hyper-V and running into some issues. with V2V, I'm able to connect to vcenter (using our administrator@vsphere.local account as well as the root account) and see our different hosts and VMs. Regardless if I try to convert the whole VM or just the .vmdk file, the conversion spits out an error that it couldn't open the image file and that the server refused connection.

I've removed snapshots from this VM and there aren't any backups running on it either. I'm starting to think it's a permission issue, but I wouldn't think there would be any if I'm using administrator/root login for this. Has anybody run into this problem and found a solution?

Thanks!

Hi,

Please try typing ESXi credentials instead.
Alternatively, please consider converting VHDX as to local VMDK and than file copy it to the ESXi.
