Greetings;

Using the P2V Migrator I converted a W2K8R2 physical machine into my VMware v5.5 datastore. When attempting to start the new VM I'm getting a BSOD showing: 'STOP: 0x0000007B' With Startup Repair I opened a cmd prompt and ran chkdsk, minor errors found/fixed but same result on booting. Suggestions? Is there something in the BIOS I need change? VM settings?

Thank you...

Welcome to SarWind Forum!
StarWind V2V Converter/P2V Migrator does not alter the data. It takes it "as is". So, it looks like there are some driver-related issues. Please try disabling secure boot for that VM.

Ran into this myself, used an old Hirens Boot CD based on XP to boot the VM then ran the FixHDC script, this generalizes the boot drivers for storage, allowing the different hard drive controller to be used.
Otherwise the mass storage driver used at boot time cannot "see" the boot drive/windows.+
