error converting physical disk to ESXI growable image

Hello everybody.
I'm trying to convert the physical disk of a running machine, the same one where I installed starwind converter.
The procedure I follow is the following:
P2V -> Physical Disk (I choose both the C drive and the boot partition) -> local file ->VMDK->ESXi Server image->ESXi growable image.
At this point I can choose to also save the file to a network location with enough space to hold the file.
Once the conversion has started, these errors pop up:
error creating image
Invalid parameter
Conversion failed


I tried this procedure both with a physical (non-virtual) windows 10 client pc and with a physical (non-virtual) windows 2012 server, but the result is always the same

Could you please tell me more about the source OS and ESXi version you are using?
ESXi Free might not support certain APIs V2V Converter uses.

the source OS is Windows Server 2012 Foundation 64 bit and it's not virtual, but it's physical.
I just tried to create a backup from physical server to to vmdk file
If I do the same steps but select "ESXi pre-allocadet image" the convertion proccess is successful.
So, the error pops up only if I choose "ESXi growable image"

yes, if choose ESXi pre-allocadet image the backup works fine

Is 192.168.0.105 the IP address of vCenter or the ESXi host?

Can you browse that location in the V2V converter GUI?
Please try converting it to ESXi host.

So I'm having this same issue.. I can convert to a local ESXI image if I choose pre-allocated but it errors out when I choose growable image (saving in the same location)..

Any ideas? Thanks

Hi, just to confirm: are you converting a VHDX to a local device or ESXi datastore?
UPDATE: You were converting to the VM ESXi file (i.e., something that is the part of the VM). It is not expected to be available as a local file.
