I'm trying to do a P2V migration of a server and when I try to connect to the HyperV Host that is the destination server I get an access denied message. The server is running Server 2019 Core with HyperV services.

Welcome to StarWind Forum. Check please authentication settings and make sure the user you are using has local admin privileges on the destination host.

I was using the domain admin user account and I tried the local admin user account as well. I even tried creating a new local admin account just for this purpose and it still gave me an error. I had a look in the V2V_Log file and it's failing when it tries to access \\servername\root\virtualization\v2. If I try to access the same share using file explorer it gives me and it can't fine the share path.

Is the source server running virtualized workloads? If so, can you do Hyper-V storage move between the source and destination?

The destination is running Server 2019 Core, with HyperV and it has 5 VMs on it already. I'm trying to do a P2V of the source server. I'm sorry if I didn't make that apparent in my original post.

I don't have another HyperV server to try storage migrations.

Just to make sure we are on the same page. The server you are trying to P2V is Hyper-V Core and your destination is Windows Server/Hyper-V Core. Can you perform a storage move for a VM between the source and destination?

I figured out that the server it running HyperV server, which isn't even a full version of Server 2019, it's a stripped down version of Server that runs HyperV in Core mode. So this my be the reason why I'm having an issue.

Could you kindly confirm that you are running the V2V converter on the source server?
The P2V feature should be working for Hyper-V? Could you also try using CLI https://www.starwindsoftware.com/v2v-he ... rface.html?

I am afraid you misinterpreted the problem. Could you please let more light on it?
Please also consider using CLI as described below.
