Hi. I'm trying to do a VMWare VDMK to Hyper-V conversion using local source and dest file. My VDMK is ~5Gb. V2V tells me it needs 500Gb for the dest Hyper-V file. That seems very excessive. Is it correct? It's causing me problems as I don't have that much free disk space. Thanks.

Welcome to StarWind Forum!
It can be a thin disk which is provisioned to 500 GB. Check the configuration files of that disk.

Appreciate that. I set the disk size to 750Gb thin on my VMWare Fusion Win10 VM. The conversion is starting now so I'm at least past that disk size issue. Will be interesting to see how large the actual .vhdx file is. I'll repost with an update. Thanks! :D Update: .vhdx file ended up being 30Gb.

EDIT: Good to know conversion went smoothly! Thanks for using StarWind V2V Converter.
