Is there any way to do a p2v without installing on the source system? I notice the options seem to only be to "Migrate this physical machine...".

I have a physical Windows Server 2008R2 system that "has problems". Attempts to login give errors about trust, yada, yada, yada. I would like to do a p2v of this system before I mess with it. Therefore I can't install the Starwind migrator on it. Is there a way to make a bootable image with migrator on it? Perhaps an ISO image or bootable USB? Or can I boot from some Linux image and then get the migrator to copy everything except the Linux ramdisk to a new VMware VM?

Actually, I just realized there does not seem to be a way to p2v a Linux system. Am I missing something?

Hi,

No, unfortunately, you need to run the convertor on the server you are trying to convert.
