When I enter vmdk file name in the source image file name, I receive the following error:
Internal error (12) [0]
Descriptor file not found

The image has Windows 11 as the operating system. When creating the image, I was prompted to encrypt the virtual machine.

Please advise if the encryption is the issue.

This problem is related to the missing VMDK descriptor. See here https://forums.starwindsoftware.com/vie ... tor#p32357.
Try migrating data to a new VMDK and converting that one.
