Hi,
i tried to convert a vmware image (vmdk-file) into a hyper-v image (vhdx-file) using your converter v2v_converter.exe.
The result can be used in hyper-v as generation 1 only.
How can i convert into hyper-v generation-2 ?
Thanks
Alex

Greetings,
Welcome to StarWind Forum. Convert to VHDX and create VM manually.

Hi Yaroslav,
thank you for the hint.
I created a new VM using Microsoft Hyper-V Manager on W2016 with option Generation-2 and hdd-option "assign hdd later".
Then I changed the vm with adding a new hdd. In This step I selected the prevbiously converted vhdx file.
The computer does not start with message: No UEFI-compatible file system was found.
Th vmware image had one hdd with MBR not GPT. Is this the reason? Or can i attach the vhdx file with differnt options?
Thanks a lot
Alex

May I wonder about OS of the VM you are trying to convert? Linux VMs need to run Gen1.
Please try using VHD. Learn more on Gen1 vs Gen2
