Dear support team,

After successful VHDX conversion, creating new VM in HyperV environment … final connect/start the VM
GET a message „Boot failed. EFI SCSI Device“

- conversion is performed on hypervisor (host) … WIN SRV 2012 R2
- have BIOS, not EFI in ESXi
- yes, have SCSI controller … guest OS is Windows 10 … with and without VMware tools installed (try both option)
- ESXi host … 5.5u2
- try both option with and without Windows Repair Mode

OK, understand it … but unable to solve, … I miss below option? … in which point I miss it?
Please provide solution, advice …

Thanks in advance.

Best regards,

Aleksandar

Hello Aleksandar,
It seems the reason is that Generation 2 Virtual machine supports only SCSI hard drive for OS boot.
Please try to convert virtual disk into .VHD and add it to Generation 1 VM as IDE hard drive. It should work.
