Hello,
i'm facing an issue when trying to convert a vmdk from a vCenter to a vhdx file. I launch the StarWind V2V Converter, fill in the Ip Address of the vCenter, Username/Password (who has access to the vCenter), and click next.
And then the app just go on a "non responding" state forever, and I cannot proceed the rest of the manipulation...
Thanks for your help.
EDIT : i'm using Starwind V2V Converter v8.0 (build 20161115) on a Windows Server 2012 R2

Hello Yowa,
Current build of Starwind V2V Converter does not support connection to vCenter. You should connect to ESXi host directly.
Please let us know if it helps.

I was able to establish connectivity to a vCenter server v6.0.0, and a list of my attached storage, along with VMware images were displayed. When I chose one of them for conversion, I received the error message "The host is not licensed for this feature". Unfortunately due to security restraints, we are not allowed to login/connect directly to our ESX hosts. Will this product ever work for vCenter vs ESX host connection?

Hello Yowa,
As Michael said above the V2V Converter does not support the vCenter. Unfortunately, you can convert VM only from local ESXi.

Hi Ivan,
I received an error "NBD_ERR_NETWORK_CONNECT" from the V2V converter after I connected to my VMWare ESXi Server (6.5.0 (Build 5310538))->Datastore->one of the Windows 2012 (64-bit) (Esxi 5.0 or later)'s .vmdk image. Any idea what causing this problem?
Regards,
Kelvin

Hello, Calvin! This error message is from ESXi.
Try to convert virtual disks one by one. Also, please try to reboot the physical host, it helped people who experienced this issue.
