I have to migrate couple ubuntu VMs with large disks stored as vmdk in datastores (vmware 5.5) to hyperv , i tought no big deal , and downloaded flat vmdk from datastores and tried to convert them. Unfortunately converter bugs out with Internal error (8) [0]. Any suggestions how to get them converted. I tought we are long past 2tb limits.

thanks

Hello Morisey,

This error usually occurs if you have exceeds the file size limit, which could be written to the disk. Could you please clarify the type of format you have chose for conversion - .VHD or .VHDX ? Also, it would be great to clarify the destination of converted file - network location or physical disk? What type of disk you have - GPT or MBR? Does it have enough space?
