Changing virtual machine formats on demand is not a luxury, but a real necessity right now. That’s exactly why StarWind brings V2V Converter to its customers. Most vendors have developed their own VM formats, which are not accepted by other hypervisors. That’s not at all convenient and StarWind V2V Converter solves this problem with ease.

Here’s what StarWind V2V Converter does:
  • Converts VMs freely between the major formats – VMDK, VHD(X) and StarWind native IMG, basically “cloning” it, leaving the original intact.
  • As a side effect from the previous feature, there’s an additional backup copy of the converted VM, so the process becomes completely safe.
  • Enables the activation of Windows Repair Mode when converting to VHDX format. This way, the VM adapts to the changes in hardware environment without any issues.

Obviously, as email is what you are missing.
To be serious instead, could you check all folders of your mailbox for that message and confirm it has not been filtered as unwanted communication?

I have the same problem. I've tried various times and each time I get a page that says the message was sent but when I look at our mailboxes/spam filters/smtp logs I see nothing has been sent.

I just registered using a different email address and never received the download link.
I say with confidence that the StarWind V2V registration/download process is broken.
I have suspicion that it has been broken for while now.

Hello, I was wondering which version of the V2V Converter supports the conversion of Local Physical Drive to Thin-Provisioned VMDK files?

I saw from this guide : https://www.starwindsoftware.com/v2v-he ... rface.html

File types:

ft_vhd_thin - MS VHD thin-provisioned;
ft_vhd_thick - MS VHD thick-provisioned;
ft_vhdx_thin - MS VHDX thin-provisioned;
ft_vhdx_thick - MS VHDX thick-provisioned;
ft_vmdk_ws_thin - VMDK thin-provisioned for VMware Workstation;
ft_vmdk_ws_thick - VMDK thick-provisioned for VMware Workstation;
ft_vmdk_esx_thin - VMDK thin-provisioned for VMware ESXi Server;
ft_vmdk_esx - VMDK thick-provisioned for VMware ESXi Server;
ft_vmdk_so - VMDK stream-optimized;
ft_raw - RAW image;
ft_qcow2 - QCOW2 virtual disk.

The Starwind V2V Converter version installed on my end is 9.0.1.509 and when I try to use it, it gives me an error message saying "Invalid parameter"
