Hi guys,

The converter (from VMware to .VHD) seemed to work great but when I come to run the VM using Virtual PC it goes in a continuous loop during the system boot phase. It seems to load the disks, then it says 'Loading Files' then it reboots.

Anyone got any experiences?

My setup is:

64Bit windows 7 host
64Bit Windows 2008 Server VM

We don't patch emulated hardware so you need to boot your OS into maintenance mode so it could rescan hardware and update driver set to match new configuration.

Thanks Anton,

The hardware hasnt changed though, its still running on the same host the VMware image was.

Also there doesnt seem to be an option in the BIOS to run in maintenance mode?

The steps I've followed are:

1) In VMware image remove VMWare Tools
2) Run Starwind converter
3) Create new Virtual PC VM
4) Point the new VM at the .VHD file created by the converter

It then gets stick in the boot loop described above.

Any other ideas?

It is not the host machine hardware was changed but the emulated hardware.
First it was VMWare emulated hardware and then it became VirtualPC emulated hardware.
