A contractor has P2Ved some servers for me but the disks are showing as MVMDK in the folders on storage. VEEAM is having issues because it wants VMDK not MVMDK. Is there a simple way to convert the files back to VMDK? Do I need to run a V2V or something?

Hi,

Welcome to StarWind Forum. StarWind does not allow conversion to MVMDK (see more on supported formats here https://www.starwindsoftware.com/v2v-he ... tions.html). Can I please have the conversion logs?

Hi,

Many thanks!
I can see that you use the previous version of V2V. Could you please check if the latest one also converts the file to mvmdk in your system?

You can try using VMware's vmkfstools command to convert the MVMDK files back to VMDK format. You don't necessarily need a full V2V conversion, just a simple disk format doodle jump conversion should work.
