I'm trying to migrate a VMware VM from one remote host to the other one.

The migration of the VM starts and is runnig up to 40% and then I get the error message ...

File read error!
You do not have access rights to this file

The vm is powered off during the migration and I'm migrating the full VM.

Do you have any idea to solve the migration, so that I can migrate the VM from one ESXi to the other ESXi?

here the log file ...

Welcome to StarWind Forum. Does the conversion run a long time?
Try converting the disk to a local device or to another Hyper-V host and than copy the file to the VXrail host.

It's running about one hour.

I tried in a 2nd run to create a local file and change the format to thick. But in this case I get the same error.

Hyper-V is not possible because I've no Hyper-V server

It seems that there's some session expiration. As a workaround, try converting the disks as local files and export them to VXrail. You can convert them to elsewhere where there si no expiration for a session.

I've already tried to

As a workaround, try converting the disks as local files

But the same issue with the timout.

I'm wondering where the timeout comes from.

In the ESXi I checked the Shell TimeOut for UserVars.ESXiShellTimeOut = 0 and also for the ESXiShellInteractiveTimeOut = 0.

Thanks for your update.
Does it come up even when you convert a disk into a local file that is located on the same host as the V2V converter is running?
