Converting Virtual Machine from VM Workstation

Postby mihaivan » Tue Aug 13, 2019 10:45 pm

In the help, there is a topic called Converting the Virtual Machine. It covers what to do to convert a virtual machine from ESXI, but I need to know how to do it when the virtual machine is on VM Workstation.

I have several virtual machines running on my Windows 10 machine and others at work that are in the same scenario so some guidance would be appreciated. I don't want to have to "activate" the guest OS again since sometimes I don't have the original licensing information or it is so old that it will not activate. So duplicating the machine might be the way to go.

Thanks

Unfortunately, StarWind V2V Converter cannot convert VMs from VMware Workstation, but you can try to use P2V scenario to duplicate a machine: https://www.starwindsoftware.com/v2v-he ... nario.html
