Have several ESXi 4 free hosts to convert from but unable to get tool to work. The tool logs in and displays the data store and the VM can be selected. Upon hitting next receive the following message "One of the parameters was invalid"

Hello,

What version of ESXi do you use?
Please be aware 6.5 is not supported yet.

I know this is very late but....
I had a few VMs on ESXi 4 and I was able to convert them by shutting down the VM, using my vSphere client to access the datastore and downloading the VM files to my Hyper-V host.
Then I was able to use the V2V tool to convert from the local VMDK file to a VHDX.
It's much more time consuming than you would like, but it does work.

Yes, that is the way for old versions of ESXi.
