Re: VM Performance during full sync

OK, you will receive the document on the email address you're using on forum. Personally I thing you can start implementing HA even before the release of v5.7, reason is very simple: you will not have to run full sync frequently, in most cases fast sync (which doesn't decrease the performance of th...

Re: VM Performance during full sync

1. The RAID array may be not overloaded but it performs worst in random access than in sequential. During full sync maximum resources are used by the sync process and clients get much smaller chance to use their required resources, in V5.7 we will introduce priorities to balance between sync and cl...

Re: VM Performance during full sync

Hi Max, - Thanks for clarification. 1. I hear you, but when desired performance level is to continue to run one VM, doing nothing, all i've tried to do is open the start menu - takes 30 seconds, and a sync that isnt even saturating a 1gbe connection when we have an 8 disk Raid 10 array on a 512mb bb...

VM Performance during full sync

Dear all, At present i have one test VM on our eventual, intended production VM cluster with HA 16tb starwind licenses. I have starwind 5.6 configured as follows: 2x SAN machines (DL370's, G7, 12gb RAM, 500gb 7200 8x2.5" disks in raid10) 6 nics on each machine configured with jumbo frames and s...

Re: HA heartbeat

I did the same and didn't press refresh so assumed it had decided there were no suitable heartbeat interfaces and created the images anyway. Whoops. This resulted in exactly that during testing when i crashed the server, a split-brain situation. I deleted the targets and went through and recreated, ...

Re: HA Full Sync Requirement if both nodes are powered off

I do understand the poster's original frustration. It has nothing at all (for me at least) to do with expecting you all to be perfect. I have stuck through it thick and thin. Through the past couple years of BSOD's and upgrade failures, lost data, and persistent reservations that didn't work, etc.....

Re: HA Full Sync Requirement if both nodes are powered off

I am running 5.5, if I have it configured incorrectly and it does gracefully recover from a full shutdown i hold my hands up. I have repeatedly tried this however and short of a full sync or recreating nodes I could not see a way to do this. I realize 5.6 is available but could not see that facility...

Re: StarWind iSCSI SAN V5.4 Build 20100621

Hey there, We absolutely have to be able to recover from a full shutdown in a more graceful manner than is possible at present. Please please include some form of shutdown option/or automation for this in future. We need HA, but at the single site level and do not have power protection beyond ups. L...
