Re: from v8.0.7471 to v8.0.7774 ???

What I have done so far: BTW: I did see a few unmap/trim in the logs before, but the size on disk was the same. 1) I deleted that lun, and created a new one in v8b7774 (1024GB in size) using LSFS, with 128 L1 cache, 512 sector size, no option for dedup & defrag. it created a few files: ISOdisk2....

Re: Hyper-V over NFS?

Don't you have to install the NFS client on Hyper-v
Mount the NFS share
the tell Hyper-v what local place or directory to put its VM.

the min you put "\\" that tells hyper-v its smb.

I will try it with VMware workstation, the lab of hyper using nfs.

Thanks.

Re: VS8 free - Space reclaim and resize of LSFS luns

I still don't get the idea behind this but it doesn't matter either, I ordered a bunch of new spindels and we stay with 2012R2 dedupe. Thats offline, meaning I need to keep free almost 1:1 the space my prod environment consumes in order to do a full, but for now that's the best I can do. Starwind i...

Re: Starwind on SSD - Thin or thick provisioning better?

Hi, If I use starwind on SSDs, is it better to use thin or thick provisioning? What about the auto-defrag feature. Should I activate it with SSDs? In my opinion thin provisioning should be quicker on SSDs because of TRIM. If I use thick provisioning the host doesn't see the free areas on the SSDs a...

Re: Disk full

I`m sorry, have you missed my last post? R&D confirmed that we can have that issue. QA department is testing the fix for it right now. As soon as we`ll be sure that it works we will update RC or put the fix into the RTM build. Sorry, guest I did. I will have to wait then, for new update.

Re: Disk full

**** Update ??? **** Just did a full format of my F: drive in the VM, the F: is on the email LUN, it has dedup enabled. The format is still not finish, it's about 80-85% completed, but the email LUN just has one(1) .spspx file (emails_118.spspx). This takes like forever. Going 2hrs now the emails LU...
