First time you was right, you should convert into VMware ESX server image.
Your ESXi system should see converted file.
Can you try to convert another VM?

We are higly recommend to connect nodes directly(for sync chanel) because switch will be single point of failure.
So in case of some problems with switch on sync chanel, your nodes can`t work correctly.

I think there are some drivers issue, that repair mode can`t fix.
So try to convert another VM or try to fix it in the repair mode again or give us screenshot from the repair mode.
