Just a quick update for the community: the logs and all other info was shared with developers team, and currently we are in the middle of investigation process.

Quick questions:
What is the amount of the L2 cache?
What is the mode of L2 cache that you are running? Write-Back or Write-Through?

That was like two years ago, and I do not remember exactly, but as far as my bell rings - that was some hardware related issue.
So, you are facing the same issue with StarWind v8? Have you checked the StarWind and Windows logs regarding some errors or warnings, that are not StarWind related?

Can I ask you to drop me your license (av@starwind) so I could check it in my lab? Include reference to this thread into your email please.

Actually deduplicating the data that is on StarWind VTl drive is possible.
StarWind VTL drive runs on top of the Windows, thus it is possible to enable MS Deduplication on the partition where VTL files reside, thus all the backups will be compressed.

It looked like you guys have different root causes of the problems. The are two basically:
1. Caching.
2. To do not dive dep into the terms, internal commands processing.

Improvements for both of those are on they way already and should be available soon.
