Re: AoE: Device Access is Denied

i found and reinstalled an older version of starport and that seemed to fix the issue. The newest version of the aoe initiator could not connect from 3 different systems.

AoE: Device Access is Denied

Hello. I really need some help. I'm getting "Device Access is Denied" when trying to connect to a Coraid AoE device. Coraid says everything looks ok, and that there's nothing in their system to prevent a server from connecting. The coraid unit is directly connected over ethernet (no switch...

Re: Should it work on 2008 R2 (x64) for AoE?

Hmm... doing the "force configuration string" seemed lock the system; ctrl-alt-delete does not work. I reset it and the drive shows up in drive manager but I can't do anything with it; i tried to remove it and that locked the system, too. Any other suggestions? This is all under ESX, for w...

Thank you for the replies, the log files have been sent, and the MS iSCSI initiator is a great suggestion for testing. Hopefully we can solve this. Thanks! --Bill

Starwind crash causing blue screens on starport client

I have three servers running starport 3.5 (0x20070707) connected to a Starwind 3.5 (20070809). Two of the three servers bluescreened with StarPort.sys, PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA. Upon investigation, the StarWind service had stopped on the fourth server. This is the first and only time this has hap...

1. It is a remote mirror
2. I created new image files
3. I chose "clear mirrors"
4. I enabled caching, and set them up as "slow link"

Thanks! --Bill

iSCSI Mirroring Performance

I'm evaluating StarWind and currently setting up an iSCSI mirror to a remote iSCSI target. One thing that was a little frustrating, once I set up the mirror, a progress bar popped up and fairly quickly moved to 100% .... then sat there, for hours - at least six hours. I left it over night, and it cl...

StarWind iSCSI Mirror Caching Options

Hi, I'm evaluating StarWind. Could someone explain a bit the caching options when setting up a iSCSI mirror? Specifically, what "cache size in MBs" and "Cache block expiry period in ms" - They seem fairly self-explanatory, but how do the two options work together? Thanks!! --Bill

IP connectivity lost timeout question...

I'm using starport on w2k3 to connect via iSCSI to another server running starwind. If IP connectivity is lost between the two, there is a significant pause before the disk is reported as "failed" to the OS - is there a way to control the timeout if there's a loss in connectivity? I actual...

Thank you. I did have two RDP sessions going. I've terminated one and things look fine now.
Has this issue related to RDP been fixed in 3.5? Thanks, --Bill
