I am having the same issue. I have tried various versions of ESX 3.5 & 3.5i along with various ESX patch revisions and it still is an issue. If I bootup without the iSCSI network connected, it will process on. Plug in the iSCSI network and the server will hang. Will, are you setting up your iSCS...

Truns out to be the Windows Firewall. Turn off domain profile and connect with no issue. License loaded with no issue.

I forgot about port 3261... Modified Firewall rule and all is good.

Besides inbound ports are 3260 & 3261 , there's nothing else right?

Ok then - I have installed the iSCSI service only (3.5.1). Is it possible to use the GUI to connect from another server, right? I'm having no luck with that. Beside adjusting the Windows Firewall, are there other things that need to be changed?

And how about adding the license file?

I found the issue. This machine received an in-place upgrade and it seems that the firewall rule for iSCSI was not carried over into the 3.5 config...
