Hello All!
I've got free nvme-of initiator and a license for test purposes. The (GUI) license is valid until 21.12.2021. Do I need to get a new license and reinstall it?
Dear Yaroslav, In your second technical parer you say that it is possble to make nvme-of drive as a clustered shared volume. Can I use that drive in clustered storage spaces for redundancy? It's standard Windows Server functionality. For example, I have few nvme-of drives, then I will add those to c...
Hi StarWind Staff! According to your technical papers: https://www.starwindsoftware.com/nvme-of-working-in-a-12-node-all-nvme-cluster and https://www.starwindsoftware.com/resource-library/starwind-nvme-of-initiator-creating-microsoft-failover-cluster-with-windows-server/ I have following question: C...
Dear Yaroslav, Unfortunately my test period in the datacenter has expired and I no longer have access to the hardware. Since I was not able to achieve acceptable performance, I will have to choose the classic solution with shared SAS storage on the DAS. May be in the future I will try your software ...
Dear Yaroslav, I've made many tests in various combinations :) and below are my finally results: I've used three node HA configuration of StarWind vSan free whth volume size 1 TB (volume with size 3 TB cannot be created via powershell) on Microsoft Hyper-V Server 2019. Each node has one dual-port Me...
Dear Yaroslav, Yet another question :) I try to create three HA images from my control computer at the same time. After creation process for first image already running then I try to run second process and give following error: Request to HOST1 ( 192.168.58.119 ) : 3261 - control ImageFile -CreateIm...
Hello All!
I've created a 3TB StarWind HA storage and successfully map it as a disk.
When I try to create volume on that storage by running New-Volume cmdlet then I give unexpected error after a long time.
Do you have any restrictions etc. for volume sizes?
I have reinstalled OS and StarWind software on the server. At this time CPU load is the same, but I still have an open question:
How can I determine that local accelerator driver works properly? It's a bad idea to reinstall sofware instead of diagnose the source of problem
Synchronization runs in 256K Sequential blocks. It's amazing because my windows counter Avg bytes/Write show me 1MB. Is that block size used for creation HA image? I'll try to make performance tests with sequential IO 256 KB, but at this time my results are - random IO 128K is about 390 MB/s for in...
Dear Yaroslav, I've tried to place HA image to individual disk (Micron 5200 MAX 480 GB) and sync time was about one hour. The sync bandwidth was restricted about 127 MB/s with 1MB sync blocks. So, for 1.92 TB disk, the sync time was about 4 hours and for a 3.84TB disk - 8 hours. Could you please exp...
Hi Yaroslav! OK, and how can I troubleshoot this case? One of the nodes have big CPU load, when I work with StarWind disk. I suspect, that your loopback accelerator does not works properly on that node. On "good" nodes, when I add connection, I have a list of ip addresses: good.png and on ...
Dear Yaroslav, Do iSCSI and Synchronization go over the same channels? No, I have two separate dedicated 25 Gbit/s links for iscsi/hb. If hardware RAID is not possible, please create StarWind HA devices on individual disks (i.e., with no server-scale redundancy) In this case the performance of StarW...
