Thanks for sharing. The spec looks ok, yet we don't approve specs for the software users.
VSAN is hardware agnostic (see the system requirements here https://www.starwindsoftware.com/system-requirements). Also, it is always better to use RAID controller and direct connections for DATA and SYNC.

The easiest will be just re-running conversion for the boot volume with the VMware tools uninstalled.

You need to add details to hba_rescan_conf.py. It feeds the credentials into hba_rescan.py.
I've just realized that events are also somewhat built into the script itself, so add them there as well.

Hi, I gues there could be something funny with the drivers. Try creating a fresh install and use a tool like Macrium Reflect to mirror the volume.

Most deployments do not have a switch for iSCSI and SYNC. Your comment does not apply for VSAN, IMO.
Just make sure to follow the guide.

Rescan is event-triggered, not time-triggered. There's a logwatcher file (not a *.ps1). Check it out.
We do not expect our users to alter it, though, unless there is any strong need for it.
