Re: Hyper-V to ESXi cutover question

After the conversion is over, you need to manually shut down the source VM and start up the newly emmerged one.

Re: 2 nodes hyper-v windows 2019 standard

You are absolutely right. UI is disabled by design in FREE version, you need to use the scripts. You need to configure pools outside of StarWind VSAN. You can use hardware RAID or Storage Spaces. Can you please still double-check the contents of directories I referred, please? Did you try using my s...

Re: 2 nodes hyper-v windows 2019 standard

Welcome to StarWind Forum. What is better scenario - native install over windows host or deploy VM ? It all depends on the use case. Go with the Windows-native application if you have hardware RAID and no plans for NVMe-oF support. Check this script https://forums.starwindsoftware.com/viewtopic.php?...

Re: Hyper-V to ESXi cutover question

Hi,

Welcome to StarWind Forum. V2V converter neither shuts down the source VM nor starts the destination automatically. This feature might be introduced in the future builds.

Re: VM not booting after migration from VMWare to Hyper-V (SCCM2019)

Welcome to StarWind Forum
Try uninstalling VMware Tools before conversion, and make sure to tick the repair mode checkbox when converting the disks.

Re: Starwind witness node corrupted

Go into that Witness server and copy
1. StarWind.cfg
2. Headers from /opt/starwind/starwind-virtual-san/drive_c/starwind/headers
3. *.swdsk.bak files (only you know where you created those. might be some /dev/sdb1/ path)

Re: vSAN over ONLY 2NICs?

Is it possible to create a vSAN HA Cluster Failovering and all that jazz using only two NICs? Yes. Make sure that the redundancy requirement is met https://www.starwindsoftware.com/system-requirements. See the script for many IPs here https://forums.starwindsoftware.com/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=6852...

Re: Starwind witness node corrupted

Hi,

Did you delete the old files from the storage (i.e., the OS disk and the headers)?

Yes, it might be causing the issue. It is better to merge the snapshot.

Re: Cluster down

No option available to synchronize as the free version is being used. Please use SyncHADevice.ps1 from C:\Program Files\StarWind Software\StarWind\StarWindX\Samples\powershell. There are also several threads like this one https://forums.starwindsoftware.com/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=6194&p=37569&...

Make sure to follow this guide https://knowledgebase.starwindsoftware.com/maintenance/recover-after-total-blackout/. Use scripts to manually mark nodes as synchronized. P.S. Re: Windows iSCSI Initiator 'Target Error'

Hi everyone, It is a known issue when there are too many iSCSI connections (internal and client). It results in too many descriptor files being opened. If their number exceeds the limit, issues happen. Here's a workaround for CVM versions 15260-15554. It shows the limit of descriptors and their numb...
