Re: V2V Hyper-V -> vSphere fails

Hi,

Please make sure that there is no active snapshot or a backup job running for this disk. The output states that something is locking the file.
Try P2V converting from inside the VM as an alternative.

Re: Stopping the StarWindService service [service...]

Welcome to StarWind Forum.
Can you please tell me more about the installation case?
Yes, it seems that the installation was not performed. Could you please run the installation with SERVER option selected and CLOUD REPLICATOR checkbox unchecked?

Re: Physical Linux to AWS P2V

Welcome to StarWind Forum!
Sadly, the StarWind V2V converter does not allow for P2V of Linux-based hosts.

Re: ESX to AWS error: Disk path is fail

Hi,

Thanks for your udpate. Can you try running a P2V conversion from inside of that VM?
Please consider using the root account for troubleshooting purposes.

Re: Broken VHD after Conversion VMware to Hyper-V

Hi,

For those few that break, try an older version of the software. Please see if the error you face looks like one from this thread viewtopic.php?f=15&t=6763&p=36723&hilit=google#p36723

Welcome to StarWind Forum.
The credentials should be
root/starwind
You can always find them in the script. Have a nice day.

Re: About filesystem type On CVM

Please reach out to the company representative who shared the original key with you. Please make sure to request the license that features backup repository in the UI.
You can also request the license by writing to the email in the caption.

Re: About filesystem type On CVM

I guess there is a misunderstanding here. My posts refer to Fiber Channel (FC) https://www.snia.org/education/what-is-fibre-channel, i.e., the protocol. Returning to your question, StarWind VSAN is a hardware-agnostic solution. You can use the NICs you prefer to, provided that your hypervisor is OK ...

Thanks for your post.
Could you please let me know if the instance is some sort of "AWS-ready" instance?

In general, no. But you can get one of the previous versions here viewtopic.php?f=15&t=6763&p=36723&hilit=google#p36723 or from support@starwind com (use this thread and 1191170 as your references).

Re: About filesystem type On CVM

You can request the testing (e.g., Trial license) from the person who sent you the Free one (yes, that's a real person :D). You could refer to this guide, but it is only for CENTOS 7 CVM https://www.starwindsoftware.com/resource-library/deploying-fc-on-vsphere-vsan/. With a little rework, it should ...

Re: ESXi iSCSI software adapter paths are dead

Welcome to StarWind Forum.
It looks like a connectivity issue to me.
Check the cabling and the MTU settings to match the entire iSCSI stack and see if there are any firewall in between the host and CVM.
