I think I was unclear. My complaint was in reference to truenas as an iscsi target where it has a fixed limit of 1 connection (and apparently no way to get around that!)

Huge kudos to Yaroslav for the help he gave me getting this working. I only wish other companies had this kind of support!

actually I hadn't. I re-looked at my linux vms and realized they defaulted to 1 cpu. I bumped to 4 and ran again. still 4-6 gb/sec. I then tried again with 4 parallel threads and now see an aggregate of 20 gb/sec! is it the case that multiple iscsi sessions in your linux guest will use separate kern...

indeed well, when I found I could get decent performance from the mellanox cards... I would like to figure out why ws2019 gets 10 gb/sec but linux gets 24 gb/sec.
