additional to last post. I have now tried using a server to server direct connection 10.10.10.1 and 10.10.10.2 as the synchronization link.. and put the heartbeat on the NIC that I use to connect to the host that goes through a common switch as the heartbeat. I now have a 30 day trial license while I test. My environment is 2 4U servers with large capacity local disk. I have a quad hyperconverged Network card for the vSwitch, plus a dual NIC. Thank you for the link.. I am going to try and manage with the free version and understand I will have limited functionality in the Management Console and will have to manage targets via powershell. I would prefer to use the console - but I don't think I can get budget approval :-(

Is vSAN suitable for local attached storage?

I have 2 4U servers with 36 drive bays each. I am setting up a RAID10 SATA arrays. I have installed Hyper-V and would like to use vSAN for the local disk in a cluster using both servers. Is the Starwind vSAN for me?
