Re: Backing up vSAN Windows CSV drives with SC-DPM failure

ok, so apparently all this time I was using a scale out file server for the wrong reason. The reason i'm using it the way it is now is i was trying to avoid having a virtual drive for a VM nested inside a starwind virtual drive that is sitting on a raid array.

Backing up vSAN Windows CSV drives with SC-DPM failure

I have 4 windows CSV volumes that are on top of a 2 node Starwind vSAN configuration that I cannot get to backup. I'm trying to backup the c:\clusterstorage drive and it just gives me this error: Failure occurred while adding one or more of the volumes involved in backup operation to snapshot set. P...

Re: Loopback Performance Issues (Where am i going wrong!)

I had similar issues at first, and what fixed it for me was: 1. Disabling all the cache, at that speed, cache is almost useless anyway. 2. What is the underlying network speed for the replication network? you have a separate network just for the replication right? it's over 1gb right? 3. iSCSI or SM...

Change Starwindservice.exe port 2049 for NFE?

I'm trying to install an NFS server cluster and port 2049 is already in use by the starwindservice, can we change that to a different port? or is there a workaround? [StarWindService.exe] TCP 10.100.100.21:3260 0.0.0.0:0 LISTENING [StarWindService.exe] TCP 10.100.100.24:3260 0.0.0.0:0 LISTENING [Sta...

Re: Unable to add new targets

ok, this is fixed. I went through and re-installed the latest starwind on both of the nodes and things are once again working. I'm thinking there was an upgrade issue, or something broke on some of the software. I uninstalled it, rebooted it, deleted the starwind directory, and then re-installed it....

Re: Unable to add new targets

Both are build 12393. Add device (advanced) and use the same settings as the others, no cache, 512 cluster size, then I select the same network interfaces as the others. I then right click the device, replication manager, and no matter if I add the other node by IP, fqdn or shortname, it creates the...

Unable to add new targets

I have had an existing startwind deployment for the past 11 months, and it's been great, now for some reason i'm unable to add any new devices to synchronization, but existing devices continue to sync with no issues. Adding first device works with no issue, But when I go to the synchronization manag...
