Re: New Setup Advice and Feedback

I can't wait for native ZFS support in the virtual appliance. Then I can use ZFS send to secondary backup and offsite backup servers.

Powershell commands to re-create HA partner and recover data

I'm using Starwind Virtual SAN free and I initially set up the HA between two servers using the GUI. Now that one of the SSDs died, how can I use the power shell to sever the HA partner and or re-create the image on the server with a replaced SSD? I think starwind definitely needs to have a home ser...

Re: What am I missing regarding 2 Node HA

Let me clarify: I have two physical ESXI servers, connected via 40G ethernet for sync and 10G switch for Heartbeat. I installed Hyper-V and installed Starwind so I don't need to pay for any license. They share back via iSCSI to the ESXI host. ESXI Host #1 with Hyper-V (SW) #1 is first priority and E...

What am I missing regarding 2 Node HA

I currently have two HA nodes set up with Hyper-V #1 set as first priority and Hyper-V #2 set as second. Everything was synchronized and working well. I simulated a failure by just rebooting Hyper-V #2 and everything survived. However, I came home to an entire ESXI failure housing Hyper-V #1 and fou...

Re: Problem: Device mount failed

That seems to be my problem. How do you propose me to mount the data and recover my VMs and move to a flat file instead.

Re: Problem: Device mount failed

I did nothing to find my iSCSI share down. Found out one node will not mount the LSFS. Any reasons why or how to fix? If the other node is up, why doesn't ESXi fail over to it. 2/5 23:34:14.474 d54 func: >>> CHADevice::CreateDevice 2/5 23:34:14.474 d54 HA: CHADevice::CreateDevice: Params(Device = 0x...

Re: iSCSI LUN not being seen in ESXI/vSphere

Yes, I tried creating a datastore using the vsphere web client. New Datastore -> VMFS -> Select host with available Disks/LUNs and I see nothing there. Tried this on multiple ESXI instances and no luck but it seems like microsoft iscsi initiator can see it no problem. Any other settings I need for E...

iSCSI LUN not being seen in ESXI/vSphere

I am trying Starwind Virtual San Free on two ESXI compute nodes. I set up Hyper-V 2016 as a VM on each ESXI machine and installed Starwind software as "Starwind Virtual SAN Service". I successfully set up HA between the two nodes and exported a 256GB LUN. When I add the two servers in vSph...
