Re: My Setup:Guidance

Round Robin defaults to 1000 iops before it switches but your can adjust it down all the way down to 1 to smooth it out

I think you have to use Round Robin when using vmware to get the failover

Re: Powershell command to get connected ISCSI initiators

I have a 2 node Starwind Free setup with separate compute and storage with HA being used with VMware. I want to find out the VMware inititators connected to a particular target given a iqn number like
iqn.2008-08.com.starwindsoftware.SAN1

Thanks!

Hmm. Don't see that command in the Starwindx\Samples\powershell folder. Where might I find it?

I copied the script to the c:\windows\system32\WindowsPowerShell\v1.0 folder and it worked without error.

Thanks!

When I run the lastest script my PowerStar window comes up but in PS I get the error Below The variable '$global:one' cannot be retrieved because it has not been set. Re: Question about command-script

Boris,

In requirements its says -Powershell xD

The only references I found for xD were XenDesk Powershell. Is that what is required?

Ran your script but got errors and was wondering if its because I'm missing something.

Newbie to PowerShell.

Thanks!

Re: How to handle an out of sync message when making disk changes

Good idea. What is best way to stop Starwind? Stop the Starwind Virtual San service of the node I'm working on? Or is there a button I missed?

Thanks!

Edited *_HA.swdsk file with Wordpad, is that problem?

Looks like it added line feeds and I don't know what else. Will this cause a problem next time it boots?

Re: Is L1 cache shared among targets in a node?

It appears I was not paying attention and assigned it 64 MB instead of GB I can now see memory I have assigned to the img file in Windows Task Manager.

Doah!

You mean check RAM consumption in Starwind, not in Windows Task Manager, correct?

Re: Is L1 cache shared among targets in a node?

Question about the correct way to change the cache setting. Below is the info from the FAQ I found on the Starwind site. I have 2 .swdsk files for every image file and one of them has a _HA appended. Is this the correct .swdsk file that needs to be changed? Also it says to restart the service. I hav...

Re: How to handle an out of sync message when making disk changes

Hi, Separate Compute and Storage nodes. Each node has 128gb of memory and a LSI 9271 raid controller. Whenever the LSI raid controller makes changes like adding a global hot spare or creating a target it requests a raid bus scan that always take longer then the Starwind default timeout and takes the...
