Re: Compensation?

Hello I wanted to also inquire about the proper process for requesting an NFR for continued demo/testing , currently I do not have a product manager I am working with besides the direct staff (anton, anatoly, bohdan) through the beta forums. I was wondering should I first ask for an email address (i...

Re: V8 Dedupe & licensing questions

Ok yes that's what I am asking when does it begin to TRIM so far it looks like it keeps growing and growing. can you elaborate on when does it stop growing (begin to TRIM), does it first just fill up a whole drive and then start over writing old data, or does it have a set max then start trimming so...

Re: V8 Dedupe & licensing questions

in my test scenario the vms are running but are idle, just plain os installs no sql/ exchange, etc. In my case the spspx dedup part 'for running vm's' grows larger than the actual vm space. If its by design, would I be correct in my understanding that the de-duplication with LSFS is more about makin...

Re: V8 Dedupe & licensing questions

Ah thanks Anton, ok understood, that does clear up confusion for #3) and #2) is good. but for 1.) for LSFS, I understand the features what I was trying to find out is how do I stop SWS from growing bigger then actual stored data, especially for dedupe devices see here also for reference http://www.s...

Re: V8 Dedupe & licensing questions

Hi Anton, Thanks for the updates definitely helpful. I checked around the SWS console for Snapshot management the only reference to snapshots I found was under device then 'snapshot manager' but it had no snapshots to show, and under advanced setting I also didn't see anything regarding snapshots se...

Hello Starwind team Great work on the product. I Have been testing the beta of V8 for a while and I think it’s a good point to start recommending some organizations to move forward on it but, I still had a couple of concerns/ reservation I was hoping I could get some feedback on. Sorry for the long ...

Re: limited initial sync Bandwidth use

Hello, I know this is a month later ( been tied up with Project deadlines) but I was able to get back to the initial sync test. Since I needed to recreate one I figured I would download the latest build RC (had beta initially) after starting initial the initial sync bandwidth doubled to two 20MB/s s...

Re: Dedupe .spspx keeps growing

HI JCrowe, Glad your testing to, Sounds like you are seeing the same thing I observed as well, the SPspx file gradually grows even with Idle VM's until its more than the data itself. I also reported this observation as well. you can check out in URL below (which also includes another link from anoth...

limited initial sync Bandwidth use

Hello I just got back around to do more testing on V8, and I came across something I was hoping you could help with. So when I created a new replicated/HA disk and went through the standard process/ wizard. normally I just check the SWS console and wait for it to say complete. but this time I went a...

restore rebuild of failed node

Hi I'm not sure if I should post here or in the regular forum about my issue, since it seems to be more of an intentional feature design. I wanted to ask about the replication manager feature in SWS. why are you not allowed to specify the ISCSCI target Name to be used when creating a partner (whethe...
