Re: Starwind virtual san free Stop all hadevice every 24hours

This sounds an awful lot like what happened to me. Had the 30 day trial licence installed. Upgraded and applied the free licence. 30 days after, everything went to hell. Volumes offline in vSphere, to the point where I had to restore from backups. Still rebuilding half of it. Managed to use the GUI ...

Re: Powershell reference

Hello rrbnc, Thanks for interesting in StarWind solution You can find all documentation about StarWindX in this folder - X:\Program Files\StarWind Software\StarWind\StarWindX\Help Am I not finding the PowerShell command reference in there? Re: DeDupe Volume Settings

So looks like I would want to set up a Scheduled Task or something with a trigger of free space to start sending e-mails. Or, potentially, run a PowerShell script to shut down the VM's and the LUN/Target. For the moment, I can live with that. What it would be nice if it did is the "stunning&quo...

DeDupe Volume Settings

I was wondering if there is a recommendation for DeDupe based volumes? I ran into an issue where testing on a 408GB disk, and created a 350GB StarWind DeDupe volume. I was hoping that it would use only up to 350GB and no more, so I'd have ~60GB free just in case. I see now that there is an .SPBITMAP...

Re: Invalid storage selected!

I have a similar situation. Details are: C: and D: drive, two separate RAID5 sets. StarWind DeDupe target on D:, filled up the physical drive even though the VMFS was not full. I have no ability to extend the D: drive. I have: * Stopped StarWind services * taken the *.SPIBITMAP (54GB) and *.SPMETADA...

Re: ESXi 5 to 2008 R2 based StarWind

Thanks for the reply, and I've progress to report to the positive! Initially my problem was that the ESXi hosts would scan for and find the LUN's and I could make a VMFS volume - but upon trying to copy to them, it just..... never seemed to even start. So I've tried a number of things: * On board Br...

ESXi 5 to 2008 R2 based StarWind

I'm trying to figure out if I'm doing something wrong. I've installed Windows 2008 R2 on a Dell PowerEdge 2950, Quad Core, 8GB RAM, 6x146GB SAS internal. Installed StarWind and set it up with 2 add in NIC's for iSCSI, leaving the onboard NIC's for data. These two ISCSI NIC's are on a different subne...
