Re: Some LSFS mounting issues

I tested new 10547 build.
LSFS mounting time was dramatically reduced down to 30-40 seconds. Such timings seem acceptable for us for production use.

Re: Some LSFS mounting issues

I have 1 TB LSFS target w/dedupe. User data size - 770 GB, allocated data size - 356 GB, metadata size - 3,36 GB. L1 cache - 512 Mb. Files are placed on RAID 10 (4 disks 1,8 Tb SAS 10k RPM). I stopped and started Starwind service to check mounting time. Mounting time - 30 min. It's too much for VM d...

LSFS HA partners different sizes

We've 1 TB LSFS HA target w/dedupe. For a long time (hours) 1st partner has allocated size 356 GB (metadata size - 3,36 GB, defragmentation - 13%) when 2nd partner has allocated size 354 GB (metadata size - 3,34 GB, defragmentation - 12%). Is it normal when partners have different allocated sizes? I...

Problem with HA sync fault

There's a problem HA target. 1st partner is synchronized, 2nd is not. When synchronization progress is 100% error appears and both partner become unsynchronized. Log reports "CHAPartnerNode::CancelSynchronization: Synchronization thread not found!" 2nd partner was recreated. No changes. Bo...

Re: Some feature requests

I know about synchronization traffic priority. But i want no performance degradation at all. Just a smallest.

Re: Some feature requests

I have another feature to request - scheduler. :)
Synchronization degrades performance. It's not critical to me to have new HA nodes synchronized right after creation. So I want HA nodes to synchronize at night. So I need scheduler 'cause i want to go home on time.

Re: DC and HA

I expect 2 DCs are enough. You've made even more when you put second DC to HA SAN.

Re: Windows 2008 R2 iSNS Server

I reconfigured iSNS servers list in StarWind so targets appeared in iSCSI Fabrics. Targets disappeared from first iSNS server after 17 mins and from second iSNS server after 19 mins. I didn't check fabrics state every minute so times are inaccurate. I tried to recreate targets earlier and they disap...

Anatoly (staff) wrote:Can you see the sessions in the StarWind Management Console (iSCSI Sessions tab)?
Target is not clustered. I see a session from initiators. There are no sessions from iSNS. There are no tries to connect from iSNS in logs.

Re: Some feature requests

Personally I like the ability to limit administrative access to the Starwind server. I don't currently trust my fellow domain admins to administer the SAN and I certainly don't trust my AD forest admins with this ability. If StarWind Server is domain member, domain admins and forest admins have too...

Windows 2008 R2 iSNS Server

Does someone work with iSNS Server in Windows 2008 R2 SP1? It loses my StarWind iSCSI targets, but it keeps MS Initiators. iSCSI targets appear in iSNS's iSCSI Fabrics after registering of iSNS in StarWind Server. Later they just dissapear. I use 2 independent iSNS servers with default settings. Can...

Thank you for rapid decisions.

I'll let you know about any feature requests as soon as they will appear. :)

You're right! It seems excessively to set up Starwind server's connection with AD when OS is in AD already.

Re: Some feature requests

1. I mean using AD to authenticate Starwind server administrator (administrators) when connecting to management console. 3. Now (am I wrong?): Giving target alias Choose HA target type Specify partner server parameters (I use Basic authentication) Specify partner target Specify disks' parameters Spe...
