Re: Support Issues, Waiting since Oct. 18th

Thank you Tommy. I appreciate it. John Lynch provided me the information I was asking for. On a side note, can you tell me how I am to be notified of updates and new releases to StarWind HA Unlimited please?

Re: Support Issues, Waiting since Oct. 18th

As far as I know everything was correct. Even if the phone number was incorrect, my e-mail was correct as I got the automated e-mail message. Wouldn't someone have contacted me by e-mail? I know this is not the first time that this has happened as others have posted the same thing in these forums. F...

Support Issues, Waiting since Oct. 18th

I submitted Case #00002889 via your online ticket system back on Oct 18th. I received a response from the automated e-mail system however no support engineer has responded to it yet. StarWind is beginning to get a reputation for poor support in the VMWare Community Forums.

Re: HA Sync Performance

I had this same problem, except I was seeing more like 45% utilization on the synch channel. In one of my attempts to isolate the issue, I replaced the Cisco gigabit switch I was currently using for HA synch with a cheap D-link desktop gigabit switch. Although this switch does not support Jumbo Fram...

IMG file format specification?

Can anyone tell me if the file format used for StarWind (IMG) is a proprietary file format for StarWind or is a industry standard file format? The reason I ask is that if it were an industry standard format, developers, such as myself, could extend the functionality of StarWind by writing our own pr...

StarWind Send Alert E-mails

This request was mentioned as a reply to one of my posts however I thought it warranted its own post. It would be really convenient if StarWind could e-mail an individual in the event the my HA devices lose their synchronization status. One problem I recently experienced is that one of my nodes stop...

Rotage Log Files

Is there a way to rotate the StarWind log files on a daily basis? My last log file was 18GB in size before I had to restart the service.

Re: Server and RAID configuration

Stick with one large array. From my understanding, because the overhead involved with RAID parity calculations you won't won't see an increase in performance until your array consists of at least 8 drives. I/O ops will be spread across all disks regardless of how you setup LUNs with a single array. ...

Support Policy? Bob Boule?

As far as support goes, in the past I've always sent e-mails to Bob Boule but it seems that he has become overwhelmed by his workload and very rarely responds to e-mails. When I do get a hold of him he goes above and beyond to help us but getting a hold of him is the problem. As a matter of fact, he...

Re: Losing Datastores

I don't mean to beat a dead horse but I agree with tulsaconnect as well. Updates, regardless of who they are from, should not be applied simply because they are available. Our whole vSphere network is reliant on our two StarWind HA unlimited nodes. I take the security and stability of these two boxe...
