Re: StarWind iSCSI SAN V5.7 Build 20110524

We are testing this beta version on two HP DL180 servers. Each server has Intel dual port 10GB NIC. When we run the initial sync on the HA target, the sync channel is only 45% utilized. We have tuned all TCP/IP setting that could improve the speed but not able to push the sync channel any more faste...

Re: Discovered HA issue in version 5.5 final release

It doesn't matter if both nodes are down or not. we've done the following further test. 1. Create a new VM on a storage that is served by a HA target. 2. Run IOmeter with 100% write on the VM and let it continuely run. 3. Restart the secondary node. While the 2nd node is restarting, the IOmeter spee...

Re: HA Sync Performance

We have the exact same problem in our environment. Our servers are HP DL180 G6 with quad core, hyper threading/Turbo processor. The OS is Windows 2008 R2. When we setup the first HA target with 2TB image file, the full sync took 4 days to complete. We made the registry changes base on the performanc...

Re: StarWind iSCSI SAN V5.4 Build 20100621

The other recommanfation. When creating the target and selecting the size of the disk image file, can you add the option to allow the user to choose from GB or TB? the current option is always MB. I think GB is more commonly used on storage size now. I have to do the MB to TB calulation everytime wh...

Re: LUN ID management

In the VMware client interface, under the Storage Adapters screen, the Starwind target appears to be some thing like "ROCKET iSCSI Disk (eui.203c7fa5d91f7dea)". The identifier is eui.203c7fa5d91f7dea and the LUN id is 0. Because all targets are LUN0 and the only difference is the "eui...
