Re: Error opening file (2) [5]

This error is an 'Access denied' error. It seems that that vmdk file (or the one it points to) is locked by another process or you do not have sufficient privileges to access that file.

Re: Unable to convert vhd image

It looks like the VHD you are converting have a base VHD which cannot be found.

It may happen if you moved/copied that VHD,

Re: Share some dedupe numbers?

Could you try using 512 block of deduplication for that purpose?

It could be the problem of Hyper-V file format that does not necessarily align data to 4k boundary, so the dedupe engine could not match these blocks.

It seems that the converter does not support that image file.

What version of software did you use for creating this file?

Re: steven.summone@arthaus.co.uk

This error means that you don't have needed access rights to that file.

Check if the is not used by another application and try running the converter with administrator privileges.

You may choose it. There is a page in the wizard after you have chosen the input file.

Re: Convert multipart VHD to VMDK

Error opening file (2) [5] means access violation error - some of the files is used by other application. Check it. And then, try this version: http://www.starwindsoftware.com/tmplink/StarV2V.5.6.Setup.20110831.exe It should correctly convert the image (if you place common image to the folder I men...

Re: Convert multipart VHD to VMDK

There is a bug in the converter, it will not convert the multipart VHD correctly.

I am now working on fixing it, the working version will be available soon.

Re: Convert multipart VHD to VMDK

I made some investigation, so there is it: You should place the common image to the specified folder (because its position is hard coded): C:\Temp\BTSDevCourse\VM\common\BizTalk2010Demo.vhd This should do the job. The image you should get, may be non-bootable, See this thread: http://www.starwindsof...

Re: Convert multipart VHD to VMDK

The error occurs when the converter cannot find any file. But it seems that all files are in place.

Is there a source of these images, so we could download it ant test by ourselves?

Re: Starwind AoE Init - Error installing device - Driver Failed

It seems that you are trying to connect to it with different configuration string. Either use the old configuration string that was used on other machine (DCVSFD2) or set a new one. To use the old one, check "Edit the configuration string" and type "DCVSFD2" in the field instead ...
