Re: Multiple HA Sync Sessions with 5.7

Is there a way to change the numbers of sync channels after an HA target has been created?
How many sync channels are created for an HA target that was created with v5.6 when you upgrade?

Re: 5.7 Beta Upgraded to 5.7 - Losing HA Sync Now

So if there is a known bug with 5.7 when will an updated build of 5.7 be released? I don't want to decrease my stability when I upgrade from 5.6. How long should I wait?

StarWind VSA preview edition

Hello, I recently received the email about the new VSA preview beta. I am running a vSphere enviroment and downloaded the ESX zip file and management console. I would like to know what type of virtual machines I should configure to use the provided VMDK file. Which OS type? 32 or 64 bit? minimum num...

Re: StarWind iSCSI SAN V5.7 Build 20110524

Hello rchisholm, When you stay First and Second server are you referring to order in which you upgraded there servers. Or do you mean the servers that are listed as Primary and Secondary when you create the HA target? On your clients which server is main target or are they using round robin? On my t...

Re: StarWind iSCSI SAN V5.7 Build 20110524

Just to add my $0.02. I had one upgrade of a 5.6 HA pair go very smoothly and I had another upgrade of a 5.6 HA pair go horribly bad. When the second node upgraded and restarted the service the first node I upgraded to 5.7 hung. I could not connect using the console and it was not responding to any ...

Re: Raid 0 with Starwind HA?

Thank you for all the input. I might build 4 strips of 2 rather than 1 strip of 8 based on your recommendation.

Re: Raid 0 with Starwind HA?

Thank you for your insight. I am considering an array with 8 x Intel X-25m 160GB SSD. Yes I am running 10Gb nics. The volume is only 1.1 TB. I know after 1 year of usage I have 94% of spare area available so I don't think I'll wear out these SSD's under current usage model anything soon. What has pe...

Raid 0 with Starwind HA?

Hello, I am wondering if anyone here is running their disks in RAID0 while using Starwind HA. I know everyone has their own level of risk aversion, but if I'm wondering there is some "gotacha" I'm missing. Please let me know what you think about this setup and how risky it is? 2 x Starwind...

Re: NTttcp 10Gb test settings

I thought I would post my final results. I am quite happy now after a day of pulling my hair out. Using these two commands I can repeatedly get ~9800 Mb/s though my Intel nics. One server is xeon 5500 and the client is core 2 quad on X38. ntttcps -m 1,0,X.X.X.X -l 1048576 -n 100000 -w -a 16 ntttcpr ...

Re: NTttcp 10Gb test settings

so after matching the -n argument I was only able to get up to about 2700 Mb/s. I think tried running the sender and reciever from the same computer and using the loopback address 127.0.0.1 and I was only able to get up to about 4000 Mb/s. Can someone please let me know the total througput they achi...

Re: NTttcp 10Gb test settings

Should the "-n" argument be set the same for both the sender and receiver? And should it be 1 million or 100 thousand?
