Starwind VTL and DB2 archiving

we are testing Starwind 4 VTL in order to archive logfiles from DB2. This database uses a program ( db2tapemgr ) in order to archive. The VTL seems to be recognized, since it rewinds, detects empty tape header, but on writing it aborts with reason 1: incorrect function. Has anybody tried VTL with DB...
