Anyway to force a fast sync?

So with my HA setup if I shut down one node I can do a fast sync but what about if I need to shut down both nodes or what if starwind crashes on one node and take the other node with it? At this point I have no choice but to perform a full sync which means my targets are offline until the sync compl...

Re: Installing 5.3 requires Microsoft iSCSI Service???

Yes it's installed but if you already had starport installed then it's set to manual. If this is a requirement then the Starwind 5.3 installation should mark the MS Initiator service as automatic and start it instead of throwing up an message that it's needed.

Re: version 5.3.1310 build 20100402 release notes?

Where do I find the latest release? Do I have to once again go and enter in fake information just to download the latest update?

Re: Pre-Staging HA Files

Yes I'm using 5.2 on both servers. I'm hoping 5.5 will fix this.

Re: Pre-Staging HA Files

On occasions when I either restart the Starwind service or the server itself, the ACL's will have duplicate and triplicate entries. So say I have 4 rules in my ACL, upon restart I can have as many as 12 ACL's shown. I have to go in and figure out which one is the correct one and delete the others.

Re: Pre-Staging HA Files

Ok I have things working now. I did run into an issue once where restarting one node cause starwind to crash on the other node but it onoy happened once. I also did a backup of the volumes on the basic image and restored those volumes on the new HA image. I still have an issue where a restart of the...

Re: Pre-Staging HA Files

So If I have data that's in a basic image file and I want to move over to HA what's the best path to take?

Re: Pre-Staging HA Files

I created a basic target just to make sure all the data was on the disk, it mounted fine and shows me all my data. I then remove that target and I create a new HA target, selected the same image I used prior, told starwind which server was primary and secondary, told starwind "do no syncronize ...

Re: Pre-Staging HA Files

Well I thought fast sync worked but in fact Starwind zeroed both disks eventhough I told it not to sync the disks prior.

Re: Pre-Staging HA Files

Excellent news, fast sync works just fine. I'm running into an issue where under HA the disks are showing that they are not initialized and the system wants to format them. If I mount the img as a standard target I can see the files just fine. I may have to e-mail support for a copy of the lastest 5...

Pre-Staging HA Files

Is there anyway to copy a pre-existing image to both HA partners and uset that image for a new HA target without the need for a full sync? I have a 600gb image that I would like to move over to an HA target but I don't want to have to resync everything if I don't have to. I was thinking that since b...

Re: IOmeter testing Starwind storage !?!?!?

This is not exactly true... Linux actually has better network and storage stack (OK, from the performance point of view, I know a lot about internal design of both and NT architecture is definitely a winner). So StarWind running on the top of the Linux box actually shows 20-30% better results (most...
