All is well with the MS product and/or Starport. I believe increasing RAM and slowing the drive speed made this work for me.

I did use the Vista stock MS initiator for the past two days and there were no lockups for me. I will retest with Starport tomorrow and see how it performs-it did lockup when I used it after my "16 minute" post.
