NIC metric

Hi.

I run a Windows Server 2019 test cluster with 2 nodes. For StarWind ISCSI I reserved one 10G and one 1GB line via 2 different switches. When I sync a test volume, the 1GB line is loaded to 100% but the 10G line is only used around 500Mbit. I changed the interface metric to favor the 10G but with no effect. MPIO is activated with LQD. Any ideas how to move the traffic to the faster line?

Thanks.

Martin

Starwind VSAN uses round-robin to synchronize, so using links of different bandwidth gives yoj a half of performance.
Speaking of the iSCSI network, try using round-robin with the subset with the favor to 10 GBE link. Note that system performance is not only about network performance, but also storage and Initiator performance.
