Hello,
I am looking for an archived Windows x64 installer of StarWind Virtual SAN V8, preferably build 15159 (or build 15020 if 15159 is not available).
I have an existing perpetual StarWind VSAN Free V8 license and plan to use StarWind in the following legacy environment:
Windows Server 2012 R2 as the StarWind storage host
VMware ESXi 5.5 initially
planned migration to VMware ESXi 6.5 U3
Compute and Storage Separated configuration
3 dedicated StarWind storage nodes
synchronous HA replication over 10 GbE
iSCSI storage for VMware VMFS datastores
I found references confirming that build 15159 existed as a Win64 build and was used on Windows Server 2012 R2, but I could not find the original Windows installer.
Could you please:
Provide an official archived download link (Salesforce/SFC or another StarWind-hosted link) for:
StarWind Virtual SAN V8 build 15159, Windows x64, or
build 15020, Windows x64, if 15159 is unavailable.
Confirm which is the latest StarWind VSAN V8 Windows build officially compatible with both Windows Server 2012 R2 and VMware ESXi 5.5. Compatibility with ESXi 6.5 U3 is also required for the planned migration.
Confirm whether that recommended build supports 3-way synchronous HA replication with Node Majority in a three-node Compute and Storage Separated configuration.
Confirm whether this configuration is available with a legacy perpetual VSAN Free V8 license with the following parameters:
FreeLicense = 1
LicenseType = 22
servers = 3
haimage
haimagesyncreplica
If build 15159 is not the best choice for this configuration, could you please recommend the latest Windows build you would use for this specific legacy environment?
I only need the archived installer and compatibility/licensing information. I understand that this is a legacy configuration and that VSAN Free does not include dedicated technical support.
Thank you.

If you are planning a fresh install, you can have the latest build (available here
https://www.starwindsoftware.com/downlo ... d-products). It works for 20212 R2.
Please note that the Hypervisor and OS versions you are referring to are EOL and are no longer tested. There should be no issues using the latest VSAN build with 2012R2 and connecting storage to ESXi 5.5, but I can't confirm the interoperability.

Thank you for the clarification.
Just two final questions regarding the latest Windows build:
Will the latest Windows VSAN build (currently build 20089) accept my existing perpetual VSAN Free V8 license with FreeLicense=1, LicenseType=22, servers=3, haimage and haimagesyncreplica?
With this Free license and the latest Windows build, is 3-way synchronous replication with Node Majority still available for a 3-node Compute and Storage Separated configuration?
If yes, I will test the latest build first with ESXi 5.5 before putting it into production.
Thank you.

20089, I believe.
With this Free license and the latest Windows build, is 3-way synchronous replication with Node Majority still available for a 3-node Compute and Storage Separated configuration?
yes.
StarWind VSAN license limits the number of replication partners (i.e., mirrors, where VSAN is installed) not the number of clients (i.e., initiator hosts). This being said, you can set up a 3-way mirror and share the storage to an almost infinite number of hosts (until you exceed 65536-3xreplication 2xHB iSCS sessions).

Hello,
Thank you for the clarification.
I tried to download StarWind VSAN V8 build 20089 using the download page you provided. However, the download form requires a phone number and a corporate email address, which I am unable to provide.
Since I already have an existing perpetual VSAN Free V8 license and only need the Windows installer for a fresh installation, could you please provide a direct official download link for:
StarWind Virtual SAN V8 build 20089, Windows x64
A StarWind-hosted or Salesforce/SFC archive link would be ideal.
I do not need a trial license, sales contact, or evaluation assistance — only the original Windows installer.
Thank you very much for your help.
