I have set up a Starwind VM on each host. This is a 2 node set up with a third Ubuntu VM providing a quorum. Each host has 2 * 2Tb Samsung NVMe drives that I have used as passthrough devices to the Starwind VMs as the basis for shared storage. Each host has 2 10Gb nics with 2 ports each allowing me to create 4 Linux Bridges.
One is for management, one for data and one for replication. This leaves one spare and I am not sure whether to make use it for data or replication?
Does it matter??

Hi,
StarWind VSAN does not team or add up the bandwidth of the NICs dedicated to DATA or Replication. An extra NIC will serve only for redundancy.
While it does not really matter, I'd suggest adding it for replication.
p.s. consider joining NVMe-oF beta

Thanks for the advice, it's exactly what I chose, since there are only two servers the replication links are crossover cables between the two servers, eliminating the possibility of a switch failure or update.

I haven't got sufficient storage at the moment to consider joining NVMe-oF beta and I'm not sure my customers would appreciate their data being on a beta program.
I'll investigate my options for adding more NVMe storage to the nodes and if I can, then I'll consider applying. The resource library was very helpful in getting to a working solution.
p.s. my career started in the late 1970's writing assembler for tiny little SCADA components, with horrible memory arrangements and I had to write my own interrupt driven micro OS.

Beta is only for labs. I guess that's why it is beta still
